BWEC PRESENTS "EPIC GREAT LAKES STORMS, SHIPWRECKS AND LIGHTHOUSES - AUGUST 15, 2009

BUFFALO, NY (August 15) - On Saturday, August 15, BWEC presented the lecture: "Epic Great Lakes Storms, Shipwrecks and Lighthouses" at Canal Side on Buffalo's Inner Harbor. Tom Niziol, Meteorologist-in-Charge at the National Weather Service in Buffalo, and the Buffalo News' Mike Vogel, First Vice President of the American Lighthouse Foundation, guest lectured throughout the afternoon.

On Saturday, September 12, WIVB Channel 4 Chief Meteorologist Don Paul and Stephen Vermette, associate professor, Geography and Planning Department, Buffalo State College, will present "Ice Boom Myth Busters." Lectures begin at 1, 2, 3 and 4 p.m.
